Angie Logan tabbed as new chief nursing officer at Lutheran Hospital<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(August 12, 2016) – After conducting a national search, Lutheran Hospital has selected Angie Logan, MSN, RN, PCCN, as its new chief nursing officer. Logan, who will assume her responsibilities at Lutheran in September, has been the CNO at Dupont Hospital since 2014.<\/p>\n

Having started her professional career at Lutheran Hospital in 2000, Logan is no stranger to the dynamic nursing environment she will return to lead in less than a month. During her first stint at LHN’s flagship facility, she served in multiple leadership positions including nurse manager of the advanced cardiac therapy unit she helped develop between 2009 and 2012.<\/p>\n

Lutheran officials point to Logan’s proven track record and familiarity with the hospital as key factors that helped her stand out among all contenders.<\/p>\n

“We cast a wide net to find an individual whose commitment to excellence is evident through actions and results,” said Brian Bauer, the chief executive officer of Lutheran Health Network and Lutheran Hospital. “In this case, we found the best candidate here within our own organization. Angie has without question walked many miles in the shoes of our nurses.”<\/p>\n

Logan received national acclaim in 2013 when she received the Heart Failure Nurse Maven Award from The Healthcare Accreditation Colloquium. Her other recent achievements include multiple invitations to speak at state and national healthcare conferences; oversight of departments and initiatives that have achieved high scores for outcomes and patient satisfaction; and graduating from Leadership Fort Wayne in 2015.<\/p>\n

Logan will be taking the reins from one of her mentors, Lutheran Hospital CNO Diane Springer, who has decided to transition to a part-time position so she can spend more time with family.<\/p>\n

Springer has worked at Lutheran for 38 years, the past 16 as its CNO. She will remain at Lutheran in a patient advocate\/nursing quality position. Among her numerous contributions, Springer was a member of the trailblazing group that traveled to Stanford University for training during the development of Lutheran’s heart transplant program in the mid-1980s.<\/p>\n

Logan received her associate degree from Purdue University, Fort Wayne, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Western Governors University. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
