GE has retained national real estate services firm CBRE, Inc., through its office in Indianapolis, to help market the property to regional and national investors.

The former GE Fort Wayne campus sits on approximately 31 acres, a short walk from the downtown Fort Wayne development district. GE operated at the site since 1911 and produced a wide range of products including electric motors and superchargers. This offering presents one of the largest contiguous redevelopment opportunities in the region. Through our discussions with the City of Fort Wayne and the economic development interests at Greater Fort Wayne, Inc., we share objectives to foster thoughtful, appropriate and actionable reuse of the property.

CBRE is a fully integrated national real estate services firm and has been a regional leader in commercial real estate services for over thirty years in the State of Indiana. CBRE has the right combination of local market knowledge, broad-based experience, familiarity with GE and an extensive marketing network.

In the coming weeks and months, CBRE will conduct a detailed and comprehensive proposal submission process with its investor and developer network. Submissions are due in July 2016 and will be evaluated primarily on respondent qualifications, experience, actionable development vision, financial offer and capacity to close in a timely manner. Although proposals for portions of the property will be accepted, those involving the entire campus will be given first consideration.

No other decisions have been made concerning the property at this time. We continue to enjoy a productive dialogue with the City, Mayor Henry, and Greater Fort Wayne as we progress. We are excited to explore a possible new future for our property.

Related Images:

 <a href="https://aroundfortwayne.com/news/wp-content/gallery/cityoffw/71710.jpg"
title="Mayor Tom Henry shakes hands with Allen County Councilman Paul Moss after the press conference announcing his decision to seek a referendum vote on the gaming issue.
