Webmaster’s note<\/strong>: Although not identified, the Saigon Restaurant, a long-time fixture on Calhoun Street, is in the lower floor of this building. The news release does not specify whether it received smoke\/water damage as a result of the fire, or was affected in any way.<\/p>\n

(May 13, 2016) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 2006 South Calhoun Street at 9:40 p.m. on May 13, 2016. On the first unit’s arrival, fire and smoke were found coming from the second floor of a two story residential\/commercial structure. Firefighters used an aggressive interior attack to bring the one room fire under control in 17 minutes. One occupant was assisted in evacuating by the Fire Department. <\/p>\n

No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
