News release from the Fort Wayne Police Department:<\/p>\n

Vehicle Pursuit, Drugs, and Guns<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On the 12th of May 2016 Detectives of the Fort Wayne Police Department Vice and Narcotics Bureau were involved in a vehicle pursuit. At approximately 2 p.m., Detective J.C. Gutierrez observed a red Ford 500 exceeding the posted limit in the 2600 block of East Washington Boulevard. Detective Gutierrez enacted his emergency lights and siren and the vehicle refused to stop.<\/p>\n

As the pursuit continued Detectives observed the driver and passengers throw narcotics and handguns from the vehicle. Assorted narcotics pills, marijuana, opiates, cocaine and 2 handguns were found on the side of the road after the pursuit. A Ruger P85 went through the windshield of a parked car (unoccupied) as the Ford sped down Pennsylvania Ave and a Glock 19 was found a short time later on the same street. The vehicle stopped and all 3 occupants jumped out and ran at Pennsylvania and Kitch Street. Unfortunately for the suspects they ran directly into a barbed wire fence where Detectives captured and handcuffed all three persons. <\/p>\n

The perpetrators were charged with the following:<\/p>\n

Kareem Jerome McPherson<\/strong>, age 33 from Detroit MI<\/p>\n

  1. Resisting Fleeing in a Vehicle Level 6<\/li>\n
  2. Resisting Fleeing on Foot A Misdemeanor<\/li>\n
  3. Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drug Level 6<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Ashton Demontre Buchanan<\/strong>, age 25<\/p>\n

    1. Body Attachment Warrant No Bond<\/li>\n
    2. Handgun Without a License A Misdemeanor<\/li>\n
    3. Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drug Level 6<\/li>\n
    4. Resisting Fleeing on Foot A Misdemeanor<\/li>\n
    5. Possession of Marijuana A Misdemeanor<\/li>\n
    6. Possession of a Controlled Substance A Misdemeanor<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Varnell David Coe<\/strong>, age 25 of Redford MI<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Resisting Fleeing on Foot A Misdemeanor<\/li>\n
      2. Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drug Level 6<\/li>\n
      3. Possession of Marijuana B Misdemeanor<\/li>\n
      4. Possession of a Controlled Substance A Misdemeanor<\/li>\n
      5. Possession of a Handgun Without a License A Misdemeanor<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        This matter is under further investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department Vice & Narcotics Bureau and further charges are expected.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
