New home built with donated coins from the Glenbrook Fountain<\/strong>
\nHome to be dedicated on August 8th<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The coins in the Glenbrook Fountain have all added up to something very special and very real\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6a brand new home for single mom Andrea Bratton and her son. Her new home, built by Fort Wayne Habitat for Humanity and funded by coins in Glenbrook Mall’s fountain (the mall is owned by General Growth Properties’), will be dedicated at 10 a.m. on August 8th. The home is located at 1410 Venture Lane, Fort Wayne. The public is welcome to join us at the dedication and see in person what a few coins in a fountain can become!<\/p>\n

About Fort Wayne Habitat for Humanity<\/strong>
\nFort Wayne Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)3 non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that uses volunteer labor to build simple, affordable homes through partnerships with low-income Allen County families. Once completed the homes are sold to the family with a $500 down payment and at no profit on a 20-year, interest-free mortgage. Because of volunteer involvement, the cost of a standard three-bedroom home is kept affordable at approximately $65,000, with the monthly mortgage payment around $350, which includes taxes and insurance. Mortgage payments are then reinvested in the community in the form of additional housing opportunities.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
