{"id":580,"date":"2008-05-04T23:25:30","date_gmt":"2008-05-05T03:25:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/?p=580"},"modified":"2008-05-04T23:25:30","modified_gmt":"2008-05-05T03:25:30","slug":"another-vacant-building-bites-the-dust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/2008\/05\/04\/another-vacant-building-bites-the-dust\/","title":{"rendered":"Another vacant building bites the dust&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230; well, in a good way.\u00c2\u00a0 Looks like the dingy black brick building at the Southwest corner of Harrison and Main Streets will soon be occupied.\u00c2\u00a0 Aptera, Inc., a software and web development firm will be relocating this summer to the location which they recently purchased from Developer Bill Bean.\u00c2\u00a0 It appears some renovations are underway, and according to a <span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"https:\/\/www.insideindianabusiness.com\/newsitem.asp?ID=28621\">press release<\/span>, they have the potential to receive from the City of Fort Wayne up to $15,000 for fa\u00c3\u00a7ade improvements.\u00c2\u00a0 Their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apterainc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> reports they will be adding 15 positions to their existing staff of 23.\u00c2\u00a0 At some point, the company will be going before the Fort Wayne City Council for a tax abatement.\u00c2\u00a0 From the press release:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Aptera Software, a Fort Wayne-based provider of software development, web design and web-based applications, has announced the purchase of an office building and is expanding its operations to downtown Fort Wayne. The company will relocate from Airport North Office Park to the building at 201 West Main Street at the southwest corner of West Main and South Harrison streets. Aptera plans to add 15 employees to its 23-person workforce in its new facility through 2009. The company will invest approximately $900,000 in the building, improvements and new equipment.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;] The Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance is coordinating the community&#8217;s interaction with the company. Potential assistance to Aptera includes a performance-based grant of $8,000 and up to $15,000 in assistance for building fa\u00c3\u00a7ade improvements from the City of Fort Wayne.
