JROTC Cadet Mitchel Scott honored with Legion of Valor Cross<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(October 26, 2015) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d JROTC Cadet Mitchel Scott, a senior at Concordia Lutheran High School, was recognized today, Oct. 26, with the prestigious Legion of Valor Cross for Outstanding Achievement in the Junior Reserve Officers Training Program.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This award is presented to top Cadets nationally for outstanding academics, selfless service and strong leadership skills. This is only the third time in JROTC history this award has been presented to a Concordia Cadet. The other two students were Ryan Langeland, 1995 graduate, and Catherine Renken, 2005 graduate.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“I’m proud of Mitchel,” said SFC (R) Alan Conrad, who leads the JROTC program at Concordia. “When you have a Cadet of that caliber and to have them recognized with this award, that’s huge. It speaks a lot about Mitchel and what he has been able to accomplish over the last couple of years.”<\/p>\n

JROTC programs can recommend a student each year for the award. While Concordia does not recommend a student each year, Conrad said that Scott is an exceptional student who stands out from many other exceptional students.<\/p>\n

“I think this is the most important award. It culminates everything that I’ve done in high school in one award,” Scott said.<\/p>\n

Scott was presented the award by Lt. Col (R) Fred Spaulding during a special ceremony during chapel.<\/p>\n
