Fatal Vehicle Accident<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Date<\/strong>: Thursday, October 22, 2015<\/p>\n

Time<\/strong>: 6:12 AM<\/p>\n

Location<\/strong>: Stellhorn and Maplecrest Roads<\/p>\n

Victim<\/strong>: Adult Female Deceased<\/p>\n

Details<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

On 10\/22\/15 at approximately 6:12 AM Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a personal injury vehicle accident at the intersection of Stellhorn and Maplecrest Roads. Upon arrival Officers observed a silver neon and a pickup truck in an accident. The adult female passenger in the neon was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. The driver of the neon and the driver of the pickup truck were uninjured.<\/p>\n

The traffic accident scene was held and the Fatal Accident Crash Team made the scene and took over the investigation. North bound traffic on Maplecrest from Stellhorn was closed. West bound traffic on Stellhorn Rd. East of Maplcrest was closed. Fort Wayne Community School Transportation was notified to divert bus routes if necessary. <\/p>\n

Preliminary investigation indicates that the silver neon was on Stellhorn Rd. in the turning lane to turn left to go South on Maplcrest Rd. and the pickup truck was traveling East on Stellhorn crossing Maplecrest when the collision occurred. It appears that the silver neon turned into the path of the pickup truck resulting in an accident. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or speed were contributing factors in the accident.<\/p>\n

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Fatal Accident Crash Team, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
