Transit ridership continued to grow in 2014 with 1,924 vehicles providing 37.4 million trips and logging 45.1 million miles.<\/p>\n<p>During 2014, INDOT&#8217;s Transit Office distributed nearly $59.2 million in state funds appropriated by the Indiana General Assembly. To download or view the report, please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.in.gov\/indot\/2826.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.in.gov\/indot\/2826.htm<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Intercity Mass Transit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>INDOT directly supports two inter-city bus services that &#8211; when combined with local systems &#8211; provide an inter-connected, multi-modal, transit network.<\/p>\n<p>During 2014, INDOT&#8217;s Transit Office awarded $2.3 million in federal rural transit funds to Barons Bus and Miller Trailways&#8217; &#8220;Hoosier Ride&#8221;. The rural routes connect more than 40 Indiana communities with Greyhound&#8217;s national bus network.
