Fatal Pedestrian Hit-Skip Accident, East State Boulevard<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Date and time: Tuesday, December 16, 2014, 12:40 a.m.<\/p>\n

Location<\/strong>: East State Boulevard between Kentucky Avenue and Crescent Avenue<\/p>\n

Victim<\/strong>: Adult Male<\/p>\n

Details<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Fort Police responded to the area of E. State Boulevard and Crescent Avenue on the report of a man down in the roadway which was called in by a passing motorist. Responding officers found the unresponsive male in an eastbound lane of State Boulevard. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.<\/p>\n

Crash team investigators did recover pieces of a vehicle’s light assembly lens cover which will assist in determining a make and model of a vehicle involved. There are several businesses located in this immediate area so it is hopeful surveillance equipment has captured images that will aid officers in this investigation. Anyone that might have witnessed this event or have information pertaining to a vehicle involved is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).<\/p>\n

This hit-skip accident is under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s office and the Allen County Prosecutor’s office.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
