4 Body Cams donated to FWPD<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(December 11, 2014) – The Fort Wayne Police Department was the recipient of 4-body cams yesterday courtesy of Jerry and Linda Vandeveer and the Fraternal Order of Police Associate Lodge #6. In September the Vanderveers and the F.O.P.’s Associate Lodge #6, for which Linda is the president and Jerry a board member decided to buy the body cams and donate them to the department. <\/p>\n

The Vanderveers purchased two of the body cams and the F.O.P. agreed to match their donation and purchased an additional two. In a meeting yesterday with chief Garry Hamilton, the Vanderveers presented the body cams to the department. Chief Hamilton stated, “With a funding stream yet to be determined to outfit our 200 uniform officers with body cams, we welcome this donation”, “They will assist us as we continue to evaluate the technology”.<\/p>\n

The 4 body cams which cost $200 each will be given to the four patrol quadrants for testing and evaluation.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
