TinCaps Set Franchise Attendance Record<\/strong>
\nFort Wayne Averages More Fans Per Game Than Ever Before in 2015<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(September 7, 2015) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d The TinCaps set a franchise attendance record during the 2015 regular season, averaging 5,971 fans per game at Parkview Field. Fort Wayne’s previous attendance average high was 5,810 in 2014.<\/p>\n

“The TinCaps front office, coaching staff, and players are incredibly grateful for the 400,000-plus fans who attended a game at Parkview Field this season,” TinCaps President Mike Nutter said. “The support of fans in this region is amazing. Fort Wayne has the best fans in Minor League Baseball, as evidenced by setting attendance records in Parkview Field’s seventh season.”<\/p>\n

In 67 openings this year, the TinCaps drew 400,036 games at Parkview Field. This marks the third consecutive season, and fourth time overall, in which the organization has exceeded 400,000 fans during the regular season.<\/p>\n

The TinCaps managed to eclipse 400,000 fans this year despite three games being rained out. All three were fireworks nights (and, thus, would have been big crowds). This summer, Fort Wayne experienced more than 21 inches of rain \u00e2\u20ac\u201d the most on record in the city’s history.<\/p>\n

Only the Dayton Dragons, who own the longest sell-out streak in professional sports history (1,121), averaged more fans than the TinCaps among the 16 Midwest League teams in 2015.<\/p>\n

“Our fans have been a big part of our success on the field,” said TinCaps Manager Francisco Morales, whose team finished the regular season with the best record in the Midwest League Eastern Division. “We feed of the energy of the fans and hope to have some big crowds now for the playoffs.”<\/p>\n

The Midwest League Playoffs begin on Wednesday. The TinCaps \u00e2\u20ac\u201d second half Eastern Division champs \u00e2\u20ac\u201d are set to take on the West Michigan Whitecaps \u00e2\u20ac\u201d second half Eastern Division wild card winners. Fort Wayne hosts West Michigan at Parkview Field in Game 2 of the best-of-three series on Thursday (Sept. 10) at 7:05 pm, and, if necessary, in Game 3 on Friday (Sept. 11) at 7:05 pm.<\/p>\n
