Parkview Foundation Grows Annual Golf Classic Celebration Fundraiser<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(August 21, 2015) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d Parkview Foundation is set to host the annual Parkview Foundation Golf Classic Celebration on Saturday, September 12th and Monday, September 14th at the Fort Wayne Country Club. Proceeds will benefit the Catie B. Circle of Care program at Parkview Women’s and Children’s Hospital.<\/p>\n

Due to the continuous support and generosity from sponsors and participants of the Parkview Foundation Golf Classic, the fundraiser has been expanded to a two-day event where golfers, sponsors, and members of the community are now invited to partake in the first annual Gourmet Dinner on Saturday, in addition to the 21st annual Parkview Foundation Golf Classic Tournament on Monday.<\/p>\n

The first annual Parkview Foundation Golf Classic Gourmet Dinner will begin Saturday, September 12th with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner and live auction at 7 p.m. Dinner ticket quantities are limited and are available for $50 online at Parkview.com\/GolfClassic<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The 21st annual Parkview Foundation Golf Classic Tournament will take place on Monday, September 14th. The annual event will again feature two flights of golf with limited registration. Sponsorship and golfing registration may be completed online at Parkview.com\/GolfClassic<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne native and NFL veteran, Jason Baker, and his family will be present at the event to support the mission of the new Catie B. Circle of Care program which was named in honor of Jason’s sister, Catie, who conquered pediatric brain cancer when she was a teenager. The Catie B. Circle of Care provides Parkview Women’s & Children’s Hospital with the support, resources, and funding needed to give families and caregivers access to professionally-trained navigators for children facing chronic or serious healthcare needs.<\/p>\n

“My sister, Catie, was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 16,” said Baker. “My parents had no one to help them navigate through the various specialists and hospitals. As a result, in addition to focusing on being parents to their sick daughter, circumstances forced them to become experts in health care. My family was very overwhelmed and needed a program like this with a specially-trained navigator to walk them through every step of the difficult process, advocating for them and Catie each step of the way”<\/p>\n

The Parkview Foundation’s Golf Classic has benefited a number of recipients over the years. Most recently, generosity from Golf Classic sponsors, partners, and participants has supported the new Mirro Family Research & Education Center, the Parkview Children’s Emergency Care Center, Special Touch Fund needs for patients and families, Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center and more, in addition to two certified child life specialist positions that are present at Parkview Randallia Hospital and Parkview Regional Medical Center.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
