Victims<\/strong>: Juvenile Male, Critical Condition<\/p>\n

On Sunday, 08\/30\/2015, at approximately 5:45 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department was notified of a vehicle accident involving a child in the 1600 block of High Street. The child was already taken to a local hospital by family members upon contacting police. Officers responded to both the High Street location and the local hospital, where the child was determined to be in critical condition by hospital staff.<\/p>\n

Initial information indicates a family member was preparing to leave this address in a pickup truck, and was unaware the child was behind the vehicle. The vehicle began to reverse and struck the child. As soon as the driver realized what had happened, the driver and other family members rushed the child to the hospital, and contacted police. This occurred in the alley in rear of the home.<\/p>\n

Crash Investigators are currently collecting evidence, processing the crash scene, and speaking with witnesses. At this time it appears this is simply a tragic accident. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
