MedPro Group to Expand and Create New Jobs in Fort Wayne<\/strong><\/p>\n

(August 25, 2015) – MedPro (MedPro) Group, Berkshire Hathaway’s dedicated healthcare malpractice insurance business, today announced plans to invest $5.5 million to expand its corporate headquarters in Fort Wayne, creating approximately 70 new jobs over the next four years. The company plans to add 10,500 square feet to its current 123,000-square foot Fort Wayne campus at 5814 Reed Road. Construction will begin this fall, and the expansion will meet the needs of growing insurance business.<\/p>\n

“Indiana employment has reached a record high, with more Hoosiers working today than ever before,” said Governor Pence. “And with the continued work of job creators like the team at MedPro, we’ll continue to build the strength of our Hoosier economy, bolstered by the pro-growth business climate we have here in the state that works. Indiana is strong and growing stronger, and a key part of that momentum is the growth of companies like MedPro.”<\/p>\n

For nearly a centuary, MedPro has had headquarters in Fort Wayne and plans to remain in Fort Wayne to attract as much talent as possible to the area. “Since 1899, MedPro has been proud to call Fort Wayne, Indiana our home,” said Tim Kenesey, president and chief executive officer of MedPro. “As we further strengthen our position as the nation’s leading healthcare liability insurer, both Fort Wayne and the state of Indiana provide a great environment for business and employee growth and expanded customer solutions.”<\/p>\n

The company will be receiving an incentive package, valued at $1,522,388 from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Northeast Indiana Works and the City of Fort Wayne. The project will also qualify for a 10-year abatement of real property taxes and a 10-year abatement of personal property taxes (equipment).<\/p>\n
