Working under the direction of the Sergeant of Crime Prevention\/Child Safety Bureaus, incumbent supplies safety and adult supervision to children prior to and directly after school at dangerous street crossings.<\/p>\n
Posted On<\/strong>: Wednesday, 11 February 2015<\/p>\nLocation<\/strong>: Regular Part Time<\/p>\nPay Rate<\/strong>: $11.4118 per hour<\/p>\nJob Description<\/strong>: Summary<\/p>\nWorking under the direction of the Sergeant of Crime Prevention\/Child Safety Bureaus, incumbent supplies safety and adult supervision to children prior to and directly after school at dangerous street crossings.<\/p>\n
Essential duties and responsibilities<\/strong>
\ninclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.<\/p>\n\n- Supervises children at busy crossing intersections;<\/li>\n
- Familiarizes self with intersections;<\/li>\n
- Reports irregularities to supervisor, i.e., broken stop lights, torn down stop signs;<\/li>\n
- Supplies safety and supervision to young children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Marginal Duties<\/strong>
\nPerforms other duties as assigned.<\/p>\nEducation and\/or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Any combination of education or experience equivalent to graduation from high school;<\/li>\n
- Ability to physically move quickly to prevent young children from running out into traffic;<\/li>\n
- Ability to read and understand policies, rules, regulations, laws, and instructions which apply to safety techniques;<\/li>\n
- Knowledge of traffic and pedestrian control safety techniques;<\/li>\n
- Knowledge of traffic and pedestrian direction in public street.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Supervisory Responsibilities<\/strong>
\nIncumbent does not supervise any staff.<\/p>\nLanguage Skills<\/strong>
\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.<\/p>\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS<\/strong>
\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.<\/p>\nReasoning Ability<\/strong>
\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.<\/p>\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations<\/strong>
