BURLINGTON, Iowa (August 6, 2015) – The TinCaps took the rubber match of their three-game series against the Burlington Bees, 5-4, at Community Field on Thursday night. Fort Wayne overcame a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the second inning and three in the fifth, and hung on from there. <\/p>\n

Right fielder Edwin Moreno headlined the TinCaps’ offense as he was on base four times, going 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. His single in the second inning gave Fort Wayne a 2-1 lead against Austin Robichaux (L, 8-6).
\nIn the fifth, Ruddy Giron added to the advantage with a two-out, two-run home run to left field — his ninth of the season, moving him into a tie with Trae Santos for the team lead. Later in the inning, Franchy Cordero singled to plate Franmil Reyes, who had tripled. Santos hit what appeared to be a two-run double down the left-field line only for it to be ruled a foul ball. <\/p>\n

Burlington (Angels, 15-25, 50-59) got two runs back in the bottom of the fifth with two outs.<\/p>\n

Thomas Dorminy (W, 9-7) went six innings with five strikeouts on the mound for the TinCaps. <\/p>\n

Fort Wayne (Padres, 24-16, 56-52) relievers Taylor Cox, Aaron Cressley, and Yimmi Brasoban (S, 6) teamed for three innings in relief. The Bees made it a one-run game in the eighth when Trever Allen hit a two-out solo home run. <\/p>\n

The TinCaps continue their Western Division road trip against the Peoria Chiefs (Cardinals, 27-13, 60-48) on Friday night at 8:00. Right-hander Dinelson Lamet (3-5, 3.58) is set to start for Fort Wayne against Matt Pearce (7-9, 2.94).
