Mysterious fundraiser keeps the audience guessing<\/strong>
\nThe Fort Wayne Dance Collective is set to host its third annual “choose-your-own-adventure” fundraiser to provide more scholarships and programming for the community.<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(August 4, 2015) – On Friday, September 11, 2015, the Fort Wayne Dance Collective will present Lovestruck, the organization’s third annual immersive theater fundraiser in the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St., Downtown, Fort Wayne. Doors will open at 7 pm and the show will begin promptly at 8 pm. The organization’s similar events, Starcrossed (2013) and Wonderland (2014) received rave reviews from over 200 audience members as well as the press – being hailed as the “sort of theater [that] steals your comfort zone away from you” and “innovative and impressive,” Keiara Carr, Journal Gazette.<\/p>\n

Lovestruck is a “choose-your-own-adventure” theatrical experience in which audience members will have the entire Botanical Conservatory to explore and watch how the performance unfolds throughout the building. Lovestruck is a loose interpretation of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream in a modern day setting. There is no language spoken throughout the show and all of the main scenes are expressed through dance. Desserts will be provided with a cash bar.<\/p>\n

This “choose-your-own-adventure” fundraiser serves as the Fort Wayne Dance Collective’s (FWDC) signature event and is presented to raise funds both for scholarships for students in need as well as to create and sustain current outreach programming for the community. In keeping with its mission, FWDC makes it a priority to serve people of all ages and abilities, serving those who have the least access to the arts including students from South Side High School. “This program helps me realize who I am and want to be in life. I am thankful for it,” Kendra, SSHS Student.<\/p>\n
