USF Student Completing D.C. Internship<\/strong>
\nZachary Haydock is spending his summer in the heart of the U.S. government as an intern in the Department of the Treasury<\/em>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(August 4, 2015) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d University of Saint Francis junior Zachary Haydock was recently selected to participate in an internship for the Department of the Treasury, working in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). Less than a block away from the White House in Washington D.C, the OCIO is responsible for overseeing the Treasury’s information technology policies, implementation and security.<\/p>\n

Haydock, a USF mathematics major, is completing a 12-week program, and he has already been able to meet key executives of the Treasury including CIO Sonny Bhagowalia and Treasurer of the United States Rosa Rios.<\/p>\n

“I feel very fortunate and blessed to have such a great opportunity to work at a historic federal government agency,” said Haydock. “I have learned a great deal about the way the government works and operates, as well as other crucial business workplace skills. This internship is a perfect complement to what I currently plan on pursuing after graduation, which at the moment involves graduate programs in computer science\/information technology, law and\/or public policy programs.”<\/p>\n

“We at USF are extremely proud of Zachary and his accomplishments,” said Dr. Lance Richey, dean of the university’s School of Liberal Arts and Science. “The adaptability and intellectual curiosity which Zachary shows are hallmarks of the liberal arts which form a vital part of every USF student’s education.” Mathematics professor Dr. Victor Kutsenok added, “His involvement in classroom discussions reflects his desire to seek truth. His outstanding personality and desire to help others make Zachary a strong representative of USF.”<\/p>\n
