BMX “Race for Life” Open to All Competitors<\/strong>
\n Fundraising event for Leukemia and Lymphoma on July 11th<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/em><\/p>\n

The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation’s BMX track in Franke Park is open! To kick off the season, there will be a fundraising race for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America on Saturday, July 11th. The “Race for Life” is open to all competitors, whether or not they have an American Bicycle Association membership. This is the perfect time for newcomers to come out to the track and try BMX racing. Participants will be divided by age and skill level. Everyone who participates will receive an award or trophy.<\/p>\n

Registration is scheduled from 11:30 am – 1pm on July 11, with races starting shortly after. Competitors without BMX experience are encouraged to register early and practice on the track before race time. The fee for entering the competition is $10. Donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America will be appreciated.<\/p>\n

Riders must wear a helmet, a long sleeved shirt and long pants. Pads are optional. There is a limited supply of bikes for rent at the track, but are distributed on a first come, first served basis. If using a bike from home, trick pegs, chain guards, kick stands and reflectors must be removed.<\/p>\n

Franke Park BMX is a non-profit organization formed for the BMX riders of Fort Wayne and surrounding areas and is completely run by volunteers. New patrons are welcome. For more information visit them on-line.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
