The team&#8217;s name and apple logo are internationally admired. But\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6  <\/p>\n<p>What if the TinCaps weren&#8217;t the TinCaps? What if the TinCaps were the Octane? Fans will find out Friday on &#8220;What Could&#8217;ve Been?&#8221; Night at Parkview Field when the Octane host the Great Lakes Loons (Los Angeles Dodgers) at 7:05. <\/p>\n<p>Fort Wayne will be wearing Octane jerseys and hats. The team store will sell Octane merchandise. The video board and in-game promotions will be Octane-themed. The Octane will have their own mascot. Even the Bad Apple Dancers are being replaced for the night.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why Octane on &#8220;What Could&#8217;ve Been?&#8221; Night?<\/strong><br \/>\nBack in 2008, when the Fort Wayne Wizards announced they&#8217;d be changing their name as they moved into Parkview Field the following year, the organization asked fans to help name the new team. More than 2,500 suggestions were submitted. <\/p>\n<p>TinCaps, of course, won as a nod to Fort Wayne&#8217;s connection to Johnny Appleseed, while Octane finished as the runner-up. Like TinCaps, Octane pays tribute to Summit City history. Sylvanus Bowser invented the gas pump here in 1885.
