Officer Involved Shooting<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Date\/Time of Incident<\/strong>: 6-13-2015 9:46 PM<\/p>\n

Location of Incident<\/strong>: 2500 St. Marys Ave<\/p>\n

Victim<\/strong>: Adult Male (Deceased)<\/p>\n

On Saturday June 13, 2015 at approximately 9:46 PM, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Deaprtment responded to a residence located in the 2400 block of St. Marys Avenue in reference to a disturbance. As officers arrived on the scene, they received information that a male was at this residence in some type of disturbance prior to officers arrival. The male left the residence and went to another residence located in the 2500 block of St Marys. Officers were advised that the male may possibly be armed with a handgun. <\/p>\n

As officers went to the residence in the 2500 block of St. Marys Avenue, they observed a male in the doorway to the residence armed with a handgun. Officers ordered the male to drop the handgun several times before discharging their duty weapon. Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced the male to be deceased. No officers were injured as a result of this incident.<\/p>\n

This incident remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police, Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutors Office, and Allen County Coroners Office.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
