<\/p>\n

BELOIT, Wisc. (June 5, 2015) – The TinCaps bounced back from a tough loss on Wednesday with a 10-5 win against the Beloit Snappers on Thursday night at Pohlman Field. Fort Wayne totaled 15 hits, including four from Nick Torres and three from Ruddy Giron.<\/p>\n

Giron got the TinCaps off to a quick start as he led the game off with a home run to left field. It was the shortstop’s fifth home run in 19 games. <\/p>\n

After the Snappers tied the game in the bottom of the first, designated hitter Edwin Moreno tripled to put Fort Wayne back in front, 2-1, in the top of the second. Later in the inning, catcher Miguel Del Castillo hit a sacrifice fly to put the TinCaps up 3-1. <\/p>\n

Beloit (23-31) scratched a run across in the fourth before Torres and center fielder Michael Gettys both produced RBI-singles in the top of the fifth to make it 5-2. <\/p>\n

Fort Wayne (22-31) expanded its lead to 6-2 in the seventh as Torres doubled in a run. The TinCaps added insurance with four runs — all with two outs — in the eighth. Giron and left fielder Franchy Cordero had run-scoring singles, while Torres provided another RBI-double. <\/p>\n

Although the Snappers put up a run in the seventh and two more in the eighth, it wasn’t enough for their second massive comeback in as many nights. They rallied to win 8-7 on Wednesday after trailing 7-1.<\/p>\n

Right-hander Dinelson Lamet (W, 1-3) earned the first win of his pro career on the mound. The 22-year-old from the Dominican Republic who was signed by the Padres last July allowed two runs over five innings. For the first time in eight starts, he didn’t walk a batter. <\/p>\n

Heath Fillmyer (L, 0-6) was on the short end for Beloit, as he gave up three runs in four frames. <\/p>\n

On the same day he was named a Midwest League All-Star, Torres finished four-for-four with four RBIs — both career highs. <\/p>\n

The TinCaps look to take the series in the rubber match on Friday at 8:00 p.m. Michael Kelly (1-0, 6.14) receives the call to start for Fort Wayne against Junior Mendez (1-2, 4.78). The game can be heard on ESPN Radio 1380, Box Score<\/a>, and the TuneIn Radio app.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
