TinCaps and Parkview Field Set Attendance Records in April<\/strong>
\nParkview Field Hosts Most Fans Ever Through First 12 Games<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(April 30, 2015) – After setting multiple attendance records in 2014, the TinCaps and Parkview Field are off to a record start at the gates in 2015.<\/p>\n

In 12 games this month, the TinCaps drew 57,828 fans — Parkview Field’s highest ever attendance for the month of April, and also the most fans through a dozen games.<\/p>\n

“Entering our seventh season in Downtown Fort Wayne at Parkview Field, we had high hopes and great expectations,” TinCaps President Mike Nutter said. “To finish April with our highest attendance ever is a testament to the great fans in and around the Summit City.”<\/p>\n

April’s attendance numbers included two sell-out crowds of more than 7,000 fans at Parkview Field. The first came on Opening Day, while 7,158 fans on Wednesday marked the largest turnout so far this year.<\/p>\n

“There’s certainly a long way to go this season,” Nutter said. “But we have put ourselves in a great position to continue this amazing run in Downtown Fort Wayne.”<\/p>\n

The TinCaps have 58 scheduled games remaining at Parkview Field in 2015.<\/p>\n

“It’s been amazing to play in front of the fans at Parkview Field,” TinCaps outfielder Nick Torres said following Thursday night’s win over Dayton. “The crowd support means a lot to us. We truly appreciate the fans we have in Fort Wayne.”<\/p>\n

Of the 16 teams in the Midwest League, Fort Wayne ranks second in attendance. The TinCaps averaged 4,819 fans per game in April. Dayton was the only other team to average more than 3,800.<\/p>\n

Parkview Field’s record high for April attendance comes one year after Fort Wayne had its lowest ever attendance by average in April 2014. Even so, that didn’t stop the TinCaps from drawing a record 411,028 fans for the year.<\/p>\n

The TinCaps are back home at Parkview Field for a six-game homestand beginning Thursday, May 7 at 7:05 p.m. against the Lansing Lugnuts (Toronto Blue Jays).
