The 7:05pm game versus the South Bend Silver Hawks will be without some common items normally found at the ballpark.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We understand that for many children and adults in our community their severe allergies prevent them from attending a game at Parkview Field,&#8221; said TinCaps Team President, Mike Nutter. &#8220;The least we can do is create an environment in which they can safely attend a game without fear of a severe reaction. We selected the first game back from a long road trip so that debris from previous games was less of a factor.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The TinCaps, who control all food and beverage service within Parkview Field, will coordinate their menu for the day to accommodate for those with allergies. &#8220;There are the simple items to remove, like peanuts and candy that contain peanuts, those are easy,&#8221; said Bill Lehn, TinCaps Director of Food and Beverage. &#8220;It&#8217;s the other items that contain peanuts, or peanut products, that we really seek out to eliminate for that day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Studies by the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, show more than four million Americans suffer from some type of peanut allergy, and those same people, by just being around a peanut or peanut shell, tasting, smelling, or touching, can be life threatening.<\/p>\n<p>Items that will not be available include peanuts, M&amp;M&#8217;s, Snickers, Cracker Jack, Crunch Bars and Drumsticks.
