This shortfall follows more than 26,400 uncollected blood and platelet donations in February due to severe weather across 27 states.<\/p>\n<p>Though the severe winter weather impacted blood donation opportunities and donors&#8217; ability to give, hospital patients still rely on transfusions of blood and platelets.
