National Down Syndrome Society President to Visit Fort Wayne for A.B.L.E. Act Event<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, IN (March 6, 2015) – DSANI is hosting Sara Weir, President of the National Down Syndrome Society for a discussion on the A.B.L.E. (Achieving Better Life Experience) Act on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 6:30pm at the Parkview Field Suite Level Lounge in Fort Wayne, Indiana.<\/p>\n

After eight years of advocacy, the A.B.L.E. Act was signed into law December 2014, following a sweeping victory through both the House and the Senate. The A.B.L.E. Act will allow individuals with disabilities (not limited to Down syndrome) to have tax-free savings accounts for eligible expenses such as housing, health care, and education.<\/p>\n

Sara Hart Weir, President of the National Down Syndrome Society, will be leading the discussion.
\nFollowing the discussion, DSANI and Easter Seals ARC invite you to stay for a showing of the short film Menschen. This WWII film follows an Austrian captain and his platoon who take a young boy with Down syndrome under their wings.<\/p>\n

This event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
