Vision of MLK’s last night to play out on USF stage<\/strong>
\n“The Mountaintop” play brings dramatization of Martin Luther King’s final hours to University of Saint Francis campus<\/em>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(January 7, 2015) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d The University of Saint Francis School of Creative Arts presents “The Mountaintop,” a play by American playwright Katori Hall. Directed by Brad Beauchamp, “The Mountaintop” is a gripping reimagination of events the night before the assassination of the civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.<\/p>\n

On April 3, 1968, after delivering one of his most memorable speeches, an exhausted Dr. King retires to his room at the Lorraine Motel while a storm rages outside. When a mysterious stranger arrives with some surprising news, King is forced to confront his destiny and his legacy to his people.<\/p>\n

Presented in coordination with USF’s 125th anniversary celebration, “The Mountaintop” will be performed in the USF North Campus Auditorium, 2702 Spring Street, at the following times (doors open 45 minutes before show):<\/p>\n
