Students experience challenges of poverty in simulation event<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(December 1, 2014) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will host a poverty simulation with the help of Community Action of Northeast Indiana (CANI) in the Walb Union Classic Ballroom on December 9, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

The event gives students a first-hand understanding of the challenges and trade-offs faced by low-income households. This exercise simulates a month where participants are required to maintain their homes and provide for their family while interacting with businesses and members of the community. Volunteers play the parts of family and community members.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
