Water Plentiful During Warm Weather
\nCity to Lower St. Joe River to Place Flashboards
\nMove will Increase River Levels<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In an effort to increase the quantity of water available during the summer months, the City’s Water Filtration Plant will install flashboards at the St. Joe Dam on Monday, May 18th, 2009. The move will hold back more water in the reservoir behind the dam.<\/p>\n

Beginning at midnight Saturday, May 16, 2009, the river level on the St. Joe will be lowered. The lowering is necessary to allow the spillway to dry up so crews can safely install the flashboards.<\/p>\n

Once the flashboards are installed, the river level north of the dam will rise by about 30 inches.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
