Carroll Holds “A Night of Giving”<\/strong>
\nBreast Cancer Research and many other charities to benefit<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(October 2, 2014) – On October 3, at 7 pm during the home football game against Homestead High School, many charities will be honored in A Night of Giving. Many organizations will benefit, but one cause will be very visible. “Team Carroll” will have a show of support in the stands as spectators are going to wear their pink shirts. This “Pink Out” will display 600 shirts that were sold as a fundraiser for Making Strides for Breast Cancer Awareness.<\/p>\n

“Team Carroll” organizer, and Carroll High School Teacher, Teri Delagrange, says this fundraiser has been a team effort. “This is the first time for a Pink Out game. Our committee has been working very hard on this event as well as others. Our committee is composed of students, who have been with me since middle school, parents and faculty,” said Delagrange.<\/p>\n

During the game, organizers will be collecting money for various organizations to encourage the theme of “A Night of Giving”. The organizations will include; ALS, Riley Hospital, Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, Cancer Services of N. E. Indiana, Junior Diabetes Research Foundation, Love Without Boundaries, United Way of Allen County, and The American Red Cross.<\/p>\n

During school this week, teachers will be collecting donations from students to help raise money for the FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) which is a student organization. The FCCLA will donate this money to the Making Strides effort as well. The top five classes will receive a treat prepared by Blu Flame (CHS Culinary Program) and will choose representatives to participate in an ice water dunking event at halftime for the Homestead game. Carroll administrators, and Superintendent Chris Himsel, will be the recipients of the icy bath.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
