{"id":41673,"date":"2014-07-02T10:00:27","date_gmt":"2014-07-02T14:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/?p=41673"},"modified":"2020-12-26T18:39:05","modified_gmt":"2020-12-26T23:39:05","slug":"street-closures-fourth-july-fireworks-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/2014\/07\/02\/street-closures-fourth-july-fireworks-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Street closures for Fourth of July fireworks event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-34844\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2013\/02\/FortWayneCitySeal.gif\" alt=\"City of Fort Wayne seal\" width=\"200\" height=\"201\" \/><\/p>\n<p>News release from the City of Fort Wayne:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Street closures for Fourth of July fireworks event<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>(July 1, 2014) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/2014\/05\/22\/community-leaders-announce-new-location-fourth-july-fireworks\/\">As announced in May<\/a>, One Summit Square in downtown Fort Wayne is the new location for this year&#8217;s fireworks show on Friday, July 4.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a few street closures on Friday from 4-11 p.m.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Calhoun Street from Jefferson Boulevard to Berry Street<\/li>\n<li>Wayne Street from Harrison to Clinton streets<\/li>\n<li>Washington Boulevard from Clinton to Harrison streets will be closed from 10:15-10:45 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Fort Wayne TinCaps will be hosting a baseball game that evening. The fireworks planned for Parkview Field will be part of the fireworks being released from One Summit Square. Individuals with tickets to that evening&#8217;s game will be able to enjoy the fireworks from their seats at the ballpark.<\/p>\n<p>The fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. If the TinCaps game is not completed by 10 p.m., the fireworks will begin immediately following the conclusion of the game.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth of July Fireworks financial partners:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fort Wayne TinCaps<\/li>\n<li>Sweetwater Sound<\/li>\n<li>Parkview Health<\/li>\n<li>Lincoln Financial Group<\/li>\n<li>Fort Wayne Metals<\/li>\n<li>Wells Fargo<\/li>\n<li>Midwest Pipe &amp; Steel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The City of Fort Wayne would like to thank Indiana Michigan Power for partnering with the City on use of the One Summit Square building.
