2014 SCAN Duck Race – Like Never Before<\/strong>
\nThe year of $1 million and a mascot!<\/em><\/p>\n

(June 13, 2014) – We are swimming the final lap to reach this year’s fundraising goal of $168,500! Only 6 days left until the ducks hit the water – have you sponsored your duck for the 26th Annual Weigand Construction Duck Race to Benefit SCAN (Stop Child Abuse and Neglect) yet? The event concludes at Johnny Appleseed Park on Saturday, June 21. Ducks race at 11:30am! Sponsor your duck today for your chance at the new $1 million dollar chance cash prize!<\/p>\n

To date, the SCAN has raised just over $126,000 and sold just over 10,000 ducks with the help of staff, volunteers, and our numerous community partners. Will you help us sell 18,000 by race day? Cost to sponsor a duck is $5. You can sponsor multiple ducks at a discounted price with a “Duck Deal” 5 for $20, 13 for $50, 25 for $90 and 40 for $140.<\/p>\n

Get your Duck Deal today! More than 25 local businesses have duck certificates on hand, ready for purchase. Plus, we have duck sales events at area restaurants and stores almost every day leading up to the race! This Saturday, June 14th at 9am, the duck mascot will be making an appearance at the Southside Farmers Market – you don’t want to miss the duck’s re”duck”ulous antics! Come see the duck mascot, buy your ducks, and check out yummy, local foods. The first duck to cross the finish line is guaranteed $5,000 cash courtesy of the presenting sponsor, Weigand Construction. New this year – in addition to the first place guaranteed cash prize, the first duck to float across the finish line will be eligible for a chance to win the $1,000,000 Chance Cash Prize, Payable as a 40-Year Annuity!<\/p>\n

In conjunction with the duck race, SCAN is holding a naming contest for our new duck mascot! Vote on your favorite duck name from now until June 20 at noon.
