“Raising the Bar of Social Progress: The History of Fort Wayne’s Empowered Minority Community”<\/strong><\/p>\n

(February 13, 2014) – On Wednesday, February 26th, YWCA Northeast Indiana will be hosting an open discussion on the Colored Women’s Club of Fort Wayne and the advancements they have made by empowering our minority community.<\/p>\n
This discussion will be led by Marsha E. Smiley, an active member of our Fort Wayne community, author of The History of Early Fort Wayne’s Colored Women’s Clubs, and also named one of the “50 Most Influential African American Women in Northeast Indiana” by INK Newspaper in 2009.<\/p>\n
Come explore this topic with us in this installment of the Diversity Dialogue series on Wednesday, February 26th, from noon to 1:30 pm at YWCA Northeast Indiana’s 1610 Spy Run Avenue office. This and all Diversity Dialogues are free and open to the public. Free parking is available.<\/p>\n
