SNOW ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH TODAY&#8230;ALTHOUGH BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO THIS AFTERNOON.<\/p>\n<p>TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS BY MIDDAY SHOULD BE GENERALLY BETWEEN 5 AND 10 INCHES WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE HIGHWAY 24 CORRIDOR ACROSS NORTHEAST INDIANA AND NORTHWEST OHIO. FARTHER NORTHWEST SNOWFALL AMOUNTS SHOULD GRADUALLY TAPER TO 2 TO 5 INCHES ACROSS NORTHWEST INDIANA AND FAR SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN.<\/p>\n<p>IN ADDITION TO THE FALLING SNOW&#8230;NORTH WINDS WILL CAUSE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW TODAY&#8230;ESPECIALLY IN OPEN AND RURAL AREAS&#8230;PRIMARILY AFFECTING EAST TO WEST ROADWAYS. <\/p>\n<p>TRAVEL WILL BE DIFFICULT&#8230;INCLUDING THE COMMUTE THIS MORNING. INTERSTATES 65&#8230;69&#8230;75 AND 80 WILL BE IMPACTED. PRIMARY ROADS INCLUDING&#8230;6 24 30 31 AND 33 WILL BE SNOW COVERED AND HAZARDOUS. CONSIDER ALTERNATIVE TRAVEL PLANS IF POSSIBLE.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>HAZARDOUS WEATHER&#8230;<\/p>\n<p> * SNOW WILL GRADUALLY END TODAY WITH TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS BY MIDDAY OF 6 TO 10 INCHES ROUGHLY EAST OF A LOGANSPORT TO COLUMBIA CITY TO DEFIANCE LINE. TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 8 INCHES ARE EXPECTED NORTHWEST OF THIS LINE.<\/p>\n<p> * AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO THIS AFTERNOON.<\/p>\n<p>IMPACTS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p> * SNOW COVERED ROADS WITH FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WILL PRODUCE EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS INTO EARLY AFTERNOON.<\/p>\n<p> * AN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND HAZARDOUS MORNING COMMUTE IS EXPECTED.<\/p>\n<p> * NORTHEAST TO NORTH WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING&#8230;PRIMARILY ON EAST TO WEST ROADS.<\/p>\n<p>PRECAUTIONARY\/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY.
