Event at IPFW Simulates an Impoverished Lifestyle for Participants<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(December 9, 2013) – Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will be hosting a poverty simulation with the help of Community Action of Northeast Indiana (CANI) on Dec. 12, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

The purpose of this event is to show attendees what it is like to live in a low-income household. This exercise simulates a month where participants will be required to maintain their homes and provide for their family, while interacting with businesses and members of the community.<\/p>\n

Volunteers are needed to play the parts of family members, as well as members of the community. First-time participants are encouraged to sign up for the family member roles, while second-time participants are welcome to sign up for community roles.<\/p>\n

The poverty simulation will take place in the Walb Student Union, Room 126 (this is a change from the previous location).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
