Breakfast with Santa!<\/strong>
\nRegistration runs November 6 – December 6
\nSaturday, December 14, 9 -10 am<\/em>
\nYes, Santa eats breakfast and you can join him! Sign up for a special VIP breakfast before he makes his final list of who has been naughty and nice. Breakfast will include pancakes, sausages and eggs, milk or juice for the kids and coffee for the adults. There will be children’s activities and time allotted to take pictures of your little ones in our exhibit “A Fireside Christmas” before we open to the public. Your admission to this event will also allow you to return and visit with Santa’s reindeer from 12- 4 pm. Registration runs November 6 to December 6. Min. 24; max. 64. $12\/person. Children under two do not have to pay but they must register and will count towards the minimum\/maximum; their adult must pay registration fee. Limited booster\/high chairs available; please indicate at registration if one is required. To register, please call (260) 427-6000 and refer to code 427101-S1. November-December – Greg Becker, acrylic<\/strong>
\nGreg’s passion for art has been with him since his beginnings in a one-stoplight rural Indiana town. After high school Greg completed a Commercial Art degree with a Fine Arts minor at the University of Saint Francis. He is married to his lovely wife Jennifer and is currently an art director here in Fort Wayne. <\/p>\n

Fireside Christmas<\/strong>
\nNovember 23 – January 5<\/em>
\nTo recreate the warm and cozy feeling of a traditional Christmas celebration, the Conservatory Showcase will be filled with red poinsettias and elements that spark feelings of nostalgia for the happy family holiday of yesteryear. Did you ever lie in bed straining to hear Santa’s reindeer on the roof? Leave cookies and milk for a late-night visitor? Celebrations that brought together gatherings of family and friends, were decorated with homemade ornaments, and anchored us with food, music, and hope. A comfortable family room vignette with fireplace and Christmas tree will provide a delightful backdrop for photographs. Pi\u00c3\u00b1atas Invited for Paradise<\/strong>
\nNovember 23-December 8<\/em>
\nPi\u00c3\u00b1atas, a traditional feature in Mexican birthdays and Christmas parties, are a creative outlet for everyday artists. Families, youth groups, language classes, and service groups are invited to design, construct, fill, and donate imaginative pi\u00c3\u00b1atas. The Conservatory will showcase these works of art for two weeks in our Sonoran Desert Garden as the Pi\u00c3\u00b1ata Paradise. In mid-December, the Conservatory donates the candy-filled creations to local children’s agencies to be enjoyed in their holiday celebrations. Family Garden Close-Up: Crazy Cacao<\/strong>
\nNovember 23, 11am-1pm<\/em>
\nGet a closer look at our plants and gardens on the fourth Saturday of the month with short walks, crafts and snacks. We will visit one of our gardens to discover a different feature. You’ll get the opportunity to see what the Conservatory truly has to offer as you learn fun, valuable information, especially entertaining for families with young children. No pre-registration required; regular Conservatory admission applies.
\nDid you know that cacao, cocoa or, as it is commonly known, chocolate comes from a seed that grows inside a fruit? You’ll find the source of this tasty tree product in our Tropical Garden. This month, we’ll make a chocolaty snack and learn all about this fascinating plant that tickles our sweet tooth. <\/p>\n

Holiday Kick-Off Party<\/strong>
\nWednesday, November 27, 5 -9 pm<\/em>
\nBotanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St.
\nEnjoy hot chocolate and a cookie, meet Mrs. Claus, and get a free professional-quality photo with Santa. You can also meet two live reindeer that know all about the North Pole. The gardens are decorated for the holidays, and you won’t want to miss the animated light show outdoors. Be sure to participate in the Fort Wayne Downtown Lighting Ceremony either before or after your visit to our beautiful holiday garden and displays. Sales Garden Holiday Open House<\/strong>
\nSaturday, November 30, 10 am – 5 pm<\/em>
\nThe anticipation of Christmas is in the air, as temperatures drop and the year winds to a close. Get a jump on the holidays by visiting the Conservatory Gift Shop and Sales Garden during our holiday open house. We’ll be offering fresh, local wreaths (already decorated), holiday ornaments, quality children’s books, Leanin’ Tree cards, and other great ideas for gift-giving. Free hot chocolate while you shop! You can also make a free “bagel wreath birdfeeder” while you visit. No admission is required to shop at the Conservatory, but to visit the gardens, regular admission applies. Dancing Holiday Lights<\/strong>
\nNovember 27-December 26<\/em>
\nBest viewed Thursday and Friday evenings, 5 -8 pm
\nDress for the weather so you can enjoy the synchronized holiday lights set to music outdoors in the Terrace Garden. Walk under twinkling arches to enter a space of sound and holiday rhythm, where instrumental and vocal treasures come to visual life as lighted spheres, trees, arches, and scrolls take up the beat. You might find yourself dancing in the snowy night. Light show walk included in regular Botanical Conservatory admission: $5\/adult, $3\/child age 3-17; children 2 and under free.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
