RHPs Anthony Bass, Eric Gonzalez and Brad Brach combined on a four-hit shutout as the Box Score<\/a> shut out the Lansing Lugnuts<\/a>, 4-0, Thursday at Oldsmobile Park in Lansing. Drew Cumberland and Sawyer Carroll paced the offense with two hits and two RBIs each.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The trio of TinCaps right-handers struck out seven Lugnuts, didn’t walk a batter and didn’t allow a runner to reach third base. Bass (1-0) picked up the win as he fired six innings, allowing just three hits. He faced just two batters over the minimum.<\/p>\n

[…] Henderson Alvarez (0-1) took the loss for the Lugnuts despite allowing just two runs (one earned) in four innings.<\/p>\n

The TinCaps and Lugnuts resume their three-game series Friday at 7:05pm at Oldsmobile Park. LHP Nick Schmidt, who missed all of last season due to Tommy John surgery, starts for the TinCaps against Lansing LHP John Anderson.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
