Fort Wayne’s History Center Will Host IHS’s Auto Indiana Traveling Exhibit<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(August 15, 2013) – Fort Wayne’s History Center will host Auto Indiana, the Indiana Historical Society’s (IHS’s) newest traveling exhibition, September 13-October 14. The exhibition will be on display at the History Center located at 302 East Berry, Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n

With Auto Indiana, visitors will take a ride through Indiana’s rich automotive past as they discover the Hoosier State’s prolific contributions. From inventors and innovators like Elwood Haynes and Ralph Teetor to automakers like Studebaker and Duesenberg, Indiana has left an indelible mark on the industry for more than a century\u00e2\u20ac\u201dand vice versa.<\/p>\n

The exhibit illuminates ties between the automobiles and the development of many other economic opportunities for the “Crossroads of America,” such as the iron, steel and glass businesses. It also explores how the automobile became part of American Dream and popular culture, from movies to making personal memories.<\/p>\n

Guests can also gaze down the road ahead for Hoosiers, from environmental impact of automobiles to a look at manufacturing today. Auto Indiana is made possible by Kroger.<\/p>\n
