Jennings Center’s Teenage Sunday Celebration<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(May 31, 2013) – Jennings Recreation Center will celebrate its 55th Teenage Sunday on June 2 with the theme “It’s All About Our Youth.” The public is invited for refreshments at 3 pm, and for Fort Wayne youth performances 4 – 7 pm. Guest speakers will be former scholarship recipients Samantha Hudson and Matthew Griffin.<\/p>\n

For decades, the community has supported the Albert G. Jennings Scholarship fund to assist neighborhood youth in their pursuit of a college degree. Scholarships are awarded each year during the prestigious Teenage Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Albert G. Jennings Scholarship program has helped the college careers of many area African-Americans, including Dr. Sharon Banks, former educator at Fort Wayne Community Schools, and Mr. Jonathon Ray, CEO of Fort Wayne’s Urban League.<\/p>\n
