The ceremonies honor the work the students have accomplished in their current schools and celebrate the good things to come in their new schools. Many schools also celebrate the successful completion of pre-K or kindergarten, which for many students means finishing their first year of school.<\/p>\n<p>High schools also have special events to wrap up the year honoring students, including celebrating the first graduating class of New Tech Academy at Wayne High School.<\/p>\n<p>Following is a list of the ceremonies happening before the end of the school year. All events are at the school unless otherwise listed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, May 31<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Haley Elementary fifth-graders will enjoy a sendoff celebration at 9 a.m. at Shoaff Park. The event will include lunch and team-building games.<\/li>\n<li>At Shawnee Middle School, 1000 E. Cook Road, eighth-graders will celebrate their three years of middle school with a year-end, semi-formal at 7 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Eighth-graders at Northwood Middle School, 1201 E. Washington Center Road, will also attend a year-end, semi-formal, &#8220;A Neon Night @ Northwood&#8221; from 7-10 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Monday, June 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Forest Park Elementary will celebrate its fifth-graders with a swimming party at 10 a.m. at Northside Park Pool. At 1:45 p.m., students will have a Party in the Park at Lakeside Park. At 7 p.m., the Fifth-Grade Recognition Ceremony will be held at North Side High School, 475 E. State Blvd.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, June 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adams Elementary, 3000 New Haven Ave., will have its Fifth-Grade Celebration at 10 a.m. with brunch. The celebration will include a slide show, refreshments and guest speaker Portage Middle School Principal Jane Rentschler.<\/li>\n<li>Franke Park Elementary, 828 Mildred Ave., will celebrate the achievement of fifth-graders during Awards Night at 6 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, June 5<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lincoln Elementary, 1001 E. Cook Road, will have its Fifth-Grade Culmination program at 1:15 p.m. to celebrate the students&#8217; elementary years and wish them well in middle school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Thursday, June 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Parents and families of Franke Park Elementary pre-K students are invited to attend a congratulatory ceremony for students as they complete their first year of school and move on to kindergarten. The morning ceremony will be at 10:15 a.m. and afternoon ceremony will be at 2 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Pre-K students at Harrison Hill Elementary, 355 Cornell Circle, will celebrate the completion of their first year of school with special programs at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Students from more than 30 countries participated in classes at Anthis Career Center for English Language Learners over the last year. Those reaching milestones along their journey to mastering English are invited to participate in the Adult ELL Graduation Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. in the Anthis auditorium, 1200 S. Barr St. Some will also be recognized for their participation in a Math literacy class. The celebration is unlike others as &#8220;graduates&#8221; wear clothing representing their native country.<\/li>\n<li>Arlington Elementary, 8118 St. Joe Center Road, will have its Fifth-Grade Recognition program at 1 p.m. All fifth-grade students will be recognized as they complete their final elementary year and get ready to begin their journey to middle school. Parents are invited to attend and help celebrate.<\/li>\n<li>Haley Elementary, 2201 Maplecrest Road, will honor fifth-graders at an awards ceremony at 1 p.m. Students will be recognized for subject area achievements, perfect attendance and positive citizenship.<\/li>\n<li>Harris Elementary, 4501 Thorngate Drive, will have a Fifth-Grade Recognition program at 1:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>St. Joseph Central Elementary will celebrate the accomplishments of kindergarten students at an awards ceremony from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the St. Joe Township Fire Department Hall.<\/li>\n<li>Bloomingdale Elementary School&#8217;s fifth-grade students will be recognized for their hard work and achievements during their time at Bloomingdale Elementary, 1300 Orchard St., in a celebration at 2:30 p.m. Students will share memories and poems about their time at Bloomingdale. A juice and cupcake reception will follow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Friday, June 7<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wayne High School, 9100 Winchester Road, will have a breakfast for graduating seniors at 7:15 a.m.<\/li>\n<li>South Side High School celebrates Ivy Day at 8 a.m. The traditional ceremony includes a procession by the seniors to symbolize moving on and the planting of ivy.<\/li>\n<li>Fairfield Elementary, 2825 Fairfield Ave., will have an End-of-Year Awards Celebration for fifth grade at 9:30 a.m.<\/li>\n<li>Harrison Hill will have recognition programs for kindergarten and fifth-graders. Kindergarten students will be honored at 9:30 a.m. and fifth-graders will be honored at 10:30 a.m.<\/li>\n<li>Towles Montessori Intermediate School will have a culmination program celebrating third-, sixth- and eighth-grade students as they move on to the next level.<\/li>\n<li>Weisser Park Elementary, 902 Colerick St., will have its Fifth-Grade Recognition program at 9:30 a.m. Parents\/families are invited to attend. Following the program, fifth-grade students spend the afternoon together lunching and bowling.<\/li>\n<li>Indian Village Elementary, 3835 Wenonah Lane, will host its Fifth-Grade Culmination ceremony from 10-11:30 a.m., which will include a presentation showing the fifth-graders throughout the year. A reception will follow.<\/li>\n<li>St. Joseph Central will celebrate Fifth-Grade Recognition Day from 10 a.m.-noon at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 6606 Maplecrest Road.<\/li>\n<li>New Tech Academy, 9100 Winchester Road, will honor its first graduating class with a pre-graduation ceremony at 1 p.m. The celebration will include a speeches, a slide show of the class&#8217;s four years together, dancing and popsicles.<\/li>\n<li>North Side High School will host its annual North Side Pride Day Celebration at 1:30 p.m. Student bands, choirs and dancers will perform; awards will be celebrated; and a student who earned outstanding attendance will win a car.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Fort Wayne Community Schools<\/strong><br \/>\nWith nearly 31,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is Indiana&#8217;s largest school district.
