The DID Partners with Appleseed Comic Con to Bring Free Living Statue Workshop Downtown<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(May 3, 2013) – The Downtown Improvement District has teamed up with the Appleseed Comics and Arts Convention to bring an exciting living statue workshop to the Grand Wayne Convention Center on May 11th. Renowned living statue, Mark Abbati, will present a free two hour workshop for attendees to learn the art of developing a persona from concept and costume to performance and crowd interaction. Both prior to and after his workshop, Abbati will roam the convention floor performing for attendees.<\/p>\n

The workshop will take place on Saturday, May 11 from 11AM to 1PM in conjunction with the Appleseed Comic Con at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. Due to a recent sponsorship in promotion of performing arts education, registration for this valuable workshop is now completely free, however space is limited and RSVPs will be accepted in the order they are received. The great folks at Appleseed Comic Con have also offered attendees of the workshop all-day access to the Comic Con which runs from 10AM to 6PM.<\/p>\n

The Downtown Improvement District supports busking in the downtown district and is proud of the partners who have made this amazing opportunity possible. People are encouraged to come downtown for this great workshop and again on the last Saturday of June, the 29th, to experience a celebration of the street performer at the Downtown Improvement District’s event BuskerFest where Mark Abbati will mesmerize audiences of all ages with his performance art. Attendees of the workshop are also encouraged to try out their new skills!<\/p>\n
