Mather Lectures continue look at economic development<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(April 19, 2013) – The George R. Mather Lecture Series at the History Center continues its look at the history of economic development in Allen County when Mac Parker delivers the May 5 lecture on “You’ll Never Believe What Happened at the Coliseum”.<\/p>\n

All lectures take place at the museum, 302 East Berry, Fort Wayne, at 2 p.m. and are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Parker, a local attorney and Coliseum board member, will look at the famous people and events in the Coliseum’s 60 year history and give us a glimpse of what is to come in the future.<\/p>\n

Parker is president of the Olive B. Cole Foundation and serves on the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance, the Northeast Regional Partnership, the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center and the Fort Wayne Convention and Visitors Bureau.<\/p>\n

History Center Executive Director Todd Maxwell Pelfrey completes the lecture season on June 2 with a look at the “visionary landscape wizard” George Kessler, whose parks and boulevard plan have defined the look of our city. Pelfrey’s talk is entitled “Fort Wayne’s Park and Boulevard System: A Centennial Perspective”.<\/p>\n
