U-cycle community recycling event set at USF<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(April 3, 2013) – The University of Saint Francis (USF) will sponsor its annual recycling day for the community, “U-cycle,” on Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m.-noon at the front drive of USF’s North Campus at 2702 Spring St., Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n

The school will partner with ACE Recycling, a state-certified local recycler that employs a zero-landfill policy.<\/p>\n

The event typically serves hundreds of households and reclaims thousands of pounds of waste. Various electronic devices, household appliances and miscellaneous metals, cardboard and paper products will be accepted. Chemicals, tires, glass or wood items (i.e., furniture) will not be accepted. Those wishing to recycle items need not reside in Allen County. Small businesses are welcome to participate in the recycling event.<\/p>\n

USF sponsors the community service event, and receives no proceeds from the recycled materials. Donations to fund campus environmental initiatives will be accepted.<\/p>\n

A list of acceptable recycled items follows: Desktop, laptop and tower computers, CRT monitors and televisions (service charge applies to both), flat-screen LCD monitors, printers, servers, keyboards, mice, cell phones, copy machines, scanners\/fax machines, all metals, medical equipment with no bio-hazards, industrial, military, office, commercial, test and banking equipment, telephones, printed circuit boards, hard drives, CD ROMs, batteries, insulated wire, UPS (personal and network), DVD players, CD players, tape players, gaming consoles, power network cables, mainframes, radios, stereos, VCRs, peripherals, docking stations, modems, controllers, switching, network hubs, terminals, overhead projectors, small household appliances, microwaves, cardboard, paper, inks and toners.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
