Mac & Pat Parker Honored as Janus Award Recipients by the McMillen Center<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The McMillen Center for Health Education honored Mac and Pat Parker for their dedication to visionary thinking, tireless involvement and community contributions to health and wellness. The Parker’s were presented with the Center’s highest honor, the Janus Award, last evening at the second annual Vitality Awards. They join eight other previous Janus Award recipients, including Dr. Michael J. Mirro, James E. Kelley, Keith Busse, Sister M. Elise Kriss, Jerry Henry, Dr. Mark O’Shaughnessy, Jay Leonard and Dr. Rudy Kachmann.<\/p>\n

Zach Klutz, the McMillen Center’s Board President, shared that, “Both Mac and Pat Parker have dedicated their lives to contributing to a variety of causes and programs in our community. Honoring them with the Janus Award is the McMillen Center’s way of saying \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthank you’ for allowing health and wellness education to be included in your portfolio of causes. The McMillen Center for Health Education and our community are better off, thanks to your contributions of time, ideas and resources.”<\/p>\n

The Vitality Awards were emceed by Alyssa Ivanson, of WANE-TV. The Vitality Awards honors individuals working to create a vital, healthy community in the areas of healthcare, health education, wellness, and prevention. The McMillen Center for Health Education’s mission is to provide vital and effective, preventive health education programs that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being. The McMillen Center fulfills its mission by providing fact based health topics and by promoting responsibility in health choices and decision making. Programs are presented by professional health educators annually to nearly 40,000 youth and adults nationwide.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
