…Winter storm to impact the area starting late Tuesday night…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A storm system moving through Texas this morning will intensify as it moves northeast through the Tennessee River Valley Wednesday. Snow will expand northward through northern Indiana and into northwest Ohio late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning…and overspread south central lower Michigan by mid to late morning Wednesday. The snow is expected to be moderate to heavy at times on Wednesday…especially along and southeast of the route 24 corridor…before diminishing in intensity Wednesday night. In addition to the snow…northeast to north winds will
\nincrease to 25 mph with gusts between 30 and 35 mph in the warning area…resulting in areas of blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibilities.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n

As some uncertainty remains with respect to the northwest extent Of this winter storm…A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for counties immediately northwest of the warning area. These areas will be monitored for either later upgrades to warnings or advisories or cancellations…as details become more certain.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a Winter Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow…which is in effect from 4 am to 10 pm est Wednesday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.<\/p>\n

Hazardous weather…<\/p>\n

* snow will overspread the area from the south beginning early Wednesday morning. The snow will become moderate to heavy at times by midday Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9 inches are possible by late Wednesday night…with the heavier snowfall amounts expected roughly along and south of Hartford City Indiana to Ottawa Ohio line. The heaviest snow will fall during the day Wednesday. In addition…northeast to north winds will increase to 25 mph by early Wednesday…with gusts between 30 and 35 mph through Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

* the combination of snow and strong winds will also result in areas of blowing and drifting snow…along with reduced visibilities at times.<\/p>\n

* snow and blowing snow will create hazardous holiday travel conditions.<\/p>\n
