CITY’S NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS CONTINUES<\/strong><\/p>\n

Immediate help needed for filling sandbags\u00c2\u00a0The City of Fort Wayne’s need for volunteers with flood control efforts continued Wednesday afternoon. People interested should report to the City Street Department, 1701 S. Lafayette St., as soon as possible. Volunteers will be filling sandbags and loading trucks to help in the City’s flood control measures.
\n“We need help as soon as possible, “said Public Works Director Bob Kennedy. “Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated by the city and its residents.”<\/p>\n

Residents with concerns relating to the recent flooding should call 311 for assistance.<\/p>\n

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN WAYNEDALE FOR FLOOD CONTROL<\/strong><\/p>\n

Immediate help needed for filling sandbags The City of Fort Wayne is expanding its call for help in flood control efforts. Volunteers are needed in the Waynedale area as soon as possible. Volunteers should report to the corner of Bradbury and Broadripple to help with filling and distributing sandbags.<\/p>\n

Help is also still needed at City Street Department, 1701 S. Lafayette St.<\/p>\n

Residents with concerns relating to the recent flooding should call 311 for assistance. The center will be open throughout this flooding episode.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Check AFW Late Thursday early Friday for photos from the flooding.\u00c2\u00a0 Whomever doesn’t like the Indiana weather, certainly had a choice of everything this past couple of weeks.\u00c2\u00a0 We’ve had everything.\u00c2\u00a0 From warm to extreme cold, thunderstorms and driving rain and hail, a 2 inch snowfall one morning that was gone by dawn to some of the thickest fog we’ve seen in years.\u00c2\u00a0 Everything was extreme – and now add the flooding.\u00c2\u00a0 Keep those displaced and affected by the flooding in your prayers.\u00c2\u00a0 If you’re able, get out and sandbag.\u00c2\u00a0 If nothing else, donate to the local American Red Cross chapter or Salvation Army.\u00c2\u00a0 Both of these agencies are out in force helping wherever they are able.\u00c2\u00a0 I know from personal experience the good these agencies do.\u00c2\u00a0 In the July 2003 flooding, the house my sister and I shared was located within feet of the St. Mary’s River.\u00c2\u00a0 The support we received from the Red Cross and Salvation Army was great.\u00c2\u00a0 Support them!<\/p>\n

1427 Broadway Cell Tower proposal<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was at the Board of Zoning Appeals Office yesterday.\u00c2\u00a0 The Gen Comm proposed Cell Tower is still on the agenda for February and will remain there until either\u00c2\u00a0a refund is requested or the meeting.\u00c2\u00a0 This was according to the staff.\u00c2\u00a0 Look for an AFW\u00c2\u00a0special report on this issue in the next day or two.<\/p>\n
