Parkview to host upcoming events<\/p>\n

(Oct. 26, 2011) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d Parkview will host several upcoming events.<\/p>\n

The Brain Injury Support Group<\/strong> will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7 at the John F. Young Center, located on East State Boulevard directly across from Parkview Hospital.<\/p>\n

The Northeast Indiana Amputee Support Group<\/strong> will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Parkview Ortho Hospital, entrance 7 on the Parkview North campus. For more information, call (260) 347-8824.<\/p>\n

“Organizing to Downsize<\/strong>” will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Parkview Corporate Office auditorium, 10501 Corporate Dr. on the Parkview North campus. Downsizing or moving to a smaller home can be an overwhelming task for anyone. For seniors, the task seems even greater. Join Emily Fitzgerald, certified professional organizer, and Rick Regedanz, a local expert on senior relocation, as they provide tips on how to downsize with as little stress as possible. Diabetes Education Classes<\/strong> 4-6 p.m. Mondays Nov. 1, 8, 15, and 22
\nClasses are geared toward adults having type 2 diabetes and who do not have insurance or whose insurance does not cover diabetes education. Topics will include healthy eating, physical activity, medication options, reducing health risks, and more. The classes are free.<\/p>\n

Exercise and Wellness<\/strong> – Senior Stretch 9:30-10:30 a.m. Mondays Nov. 7-Dec. 26
\n$50 for Women’s Health Center members and $60 for non-members.<\/p>\n

Ask the Dietitian<\/strong> 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15
\nSchedule 15 minutes with registered dietitian Julia Just to have nutrition questions answered. The event is free.<\/p>\n

Foot Screenings with Dr. Michael McManus<\/strong>, Ortho NorthEast Noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16
\nFor people experiencing pain, difficulty walking, changes in foot structure, or any condition of the skin or nails. Free for Women’s Health Center members and $5 for non-members.<\/p>\n

Osteoporosis Screening 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16
\nTake 15 minutes to participate in this important screening. $5 for Women’s Health Center members and $10 for non-members.<\/p>\n

Where Are My Keys? And Myriad Questions Concerning Alzheimer’s Disease<\/strong> 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17
\nChip Koltash, dementia care instructor, Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast, will share information on memory loss, structural changes of the brain and what to expect when you or your loved one is living with the disease. He’ll also share information on how to recognize warning signs. Free for Women’s Health Center members and $5 for non-members.<\/p>\n

Answers from a Cancer Expert<\/strong> 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 and Tuesday, Nov. 22
