{"id":2053,"date":"2008-11-25T07:46:19","date_gmt":"2008-11-25T12:46:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/?p=2053"},"modified":"2020-12-25T15:50:49","modified_gmt":"2020-12-25T20:50:49","slug":"city-council-meeting-11252008","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/2008\/11\/25\/city-council-meeting-11252008\/","title":{"rendered":"City Council Meeting &#8211; 11\/25\/2008"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/icons\/t_City_Council.jpg\" alt=\"The Fort Wayne City Council in Regular Session\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is a City Council meeting this evening at 5:30 pm at the City-County Building. \u00c2\u00a0There are two items of importance on the agenda, well, they are all important, but two more so than the average resolution or ordinance. \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>First on the agenda is a public hearing for the <a href=\"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/2008\/11\/25\/tax-abatements-at-city-council-tonight\/\">proposed tax abatement changes<\/a> as put forth by Council women Liz Brown and Karen Goldner. \u00c2\u00a0Later in the Committee Session, the Council will discuss the changes as put forth. \u00c2\u00a0A final vote on the ordinance will probably take place at next week&#8217;s meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Following will be a presentation by Jim Irwin, of Barry Real Estate. \u00c2\u00a0He will be giving an update of The Harrison which is the condominium\/retail portion of Harrison Square. \u00c2\u00a0There has been revamping of the condominium portion of the project, including cutting the number of units from 62 to around 30. \u00c2\u00a0They have also had difficulty in obtaining construction loans for the project which is understandable given today&#8217;s economic crisis in this country.<\/p>\n<h3>Related Images:<\/h3><div class=\"ngg-related-gallery\">\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/wp-content\/gallery\/fw-redevelopment\/70496.jpg\"\n\t\t\ttitle=\"Jim Irwin, Barry Real Estate, leads a tour of Redevelopment Authority and Commission members around the Parkview Field.
