Child and Adult Care Food Program<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n (August 26, 2011) – Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana today announced its sponsorship of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and its policy for providing free and reduced-price meals at no separate charge. Free and reduced-price meals will be provided to participants meeting the approved eligibility criteria. Meals are available to all enrolled participants without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability at the following sites:<\/p>\n Jennings Recreational Center<\/strong> Weisser Park Recreational Center<\/strong> Boys & Girls Club of Allen County<\/strong> Euell A. Wilson Center<\/strong> Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren<\/strong> United Hispanic Americans<\/strong> McCormick Boys & Girls Club<\/strong> Jenning Cooper Center<\/strong> Brookmill Boys & Girls Club<\/strong> New DAWN – LEAP of Noble County<\/strong> <\/p>\n Listed below are the USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines which are effective July 1, 2011- June 30, 2012. To be eligible income must be at or below the following:<\/p>\n Children who are members of households that receive TANF or Food Stamp benefits, are Head Start participants, or are Foster children are automatically eligible to receive free meal benefits.<\/p>\n This program, administered by the United States Department of Agriculture and the Indiana Department of Education, Division of School and Community Nutrition Programs gives financial assistance to child care centers so that nutritious meals can be integrated with nonresidential child care services for children.<\/p>\n The goal of the program is to improve the diets of young children and increase the opportunity for children to eat a variety of nutritious foods. The meals and snacks served meet standards established by the United States Department of Agriculture for the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
